We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new, simple, and effective breathing test for asthma.
The Niox Vero directly measures lung inflammation, also known as allergic airway inflammation. This inflammation is the cause of asthma symptoms – and the cause of lung and airway damage in those who have asthma.
How does the test work?
Asthma patients exhale more nitric oxide (NO) than normal. This enables Vero to work accurately – and conveniently. The test has been designed to measure the concentration of fractional exhaled NO (FeNO) in a patient’s breath. By comparing the patient’s FeNO level with their baseline level, Vero helps your doctor quickly and easily determine the amount of allergic airway inflammation present.
“We are happy to have this new tool – it is painless and completely noninvasive, unlike many other lung inflammation tests,” Dr. Levin stated. “Vero will allow us to customize treatment to deliver the lowest effective dose of medicine possible,” he added.
